After my last hitchhiking adventure I decided to start a blog about hitchhiking. For all the people giving us a lift a nice place to look back on our travels and who those strangers in their cars were. For all the family left behind a place to stay up-to-date - and for my worried mother the place where she'll know we arrived safe ;-).
Of course - not only my hitchhiking adventures will appear here (it would be a quite quiet blog) - other contents will pass the revue also - computers, travelling, music etc.
For all the people wondering about how to start a hitchhike, where to get a lift and how to keep the direction in the right way, in my next post I will share something more about that, for now - a short report on our last trip.
Our last hitchhiking trip was from Woerden (little town in Holland) to Berlin. After 7 lifts (8 hours), we arrived, and it was fun.For the lifts, I would like to thank these people:
- "de Linschotenaar uit de Ger. Gem." (he lived in Linschoten and worked in Apeldoorn - and so he took us with him the first part of our journey
- the man with the BMW - it was only a short trip, but just that highway further
- the "personal coach" - who took us to Enschede and even a bit off his own route to drop us of at a nice spot
- the two men going to the classic car show in Bremen - they drove us at 190 kph from Enschede to Osnabruck
- "die Russische Deutscher von die Pfinkstgemeinde mit seiner son Daniel" - I'll never forget that when we thanked him for the lift after we got out of the car he said "Gott muss man danken - Ich habe mal getan was ich tun koennte!"
- the "artist" from poland who took us all the way from Hannover to Berlin
- and finally our Norwegian friends with their French car, who took us from the last gas station to our youth hostel - and finally we checked in at the same room!
It's a pity I forgot my camera, so I don't have photos of the journey - the photos taken with my mobile phone are not that sharp.. The photo in top of the blog is taken from the car, the photos beneath were taken while walking through Berlin
